Raising solar cells' output

I had some thoughts on how i can raise a solar panels' output and i thought of doing some experiments with concentration lens and mirrors. I figured out that someone else has made some research on this.

So what do you think?

Re: Raising solar cells' output

I personally wouldn't bother.
Whilst it does work, I think it would not do the panels any good in the long term.

I think you would see it more widely used by the DIY guys in America if it truely was that good.
Just my thoughts, you could experiment, if you can cool the panel somehow, that might help.

I once viewed a Youtube video where a fellow submerged a small solar panel in a fish tank of cool water and recorded the increased output from the panel. While this is not a practical solution by any means, it does prove your point. Note: I would not submerge any solar panel in water.

Allowing air circulation to the back of the panels is probably the most practical way of keeping them cool.

I'm still waiting for that composite photovoltaic material announced some time ago to be commercialised as a coating over flat-panel solar water heaters. PV coating gets cooled and its output doesn't drop off, water gets heated, everyone happy.

Re: Raising solar cells' output

I was thinking about pairing solar cells output with a wind generator output.
solar cells in parallel for max amps, and in parallel with the output of the wind turbine for higher voltage..

Would this work ??
Do the solar cells need to be @ a specific end of the circuit or in a specific configuration ??

I look forward to reading forum members thoughts, even if the idea is incorrect.
