Many of you might look at the cluster box & think it hideous...hey I did. I needed to do something a little nicer. Basically it's the same internal components as the PWM Cluster Box only a bit more compact and aesthetically pleasing.

This box was made for my wife's car. In her car I will go more the OEM look. The gauges will be installed either in the dashboard or in pods on the A- pillar.

This is the dimensional drawing for building the PWM enclosure.

Thanks Andy for sharing your information.
It looks like you have spent many hours on this project/projects.
I suspect major companies would command a lot of money for ideas like this - Just keep it safe is my only advice :D

My motivation in not money.
I won't say money is not something to be desired, but at my stage in life I'm happy tinkering around keeping myself busy & driving the wife insane!<lol>
That's one of the reasons I have posted this info & some plans. It would be great for others to be able to benefit by being able to make a system for themselves.

You say that you dont think a car can run on it alone but what if the car was smaller?
Say a 700cc Smart car with a 120w solar panel on the roof
Just a thought!

It would take a lot of gas production. 14 LPM is what it would take to run a 2kw petrol generator. This can be done but it would require about 230v. Take into account the PV panel & batteries would add significant weight to the smart car.
I'm not saying it's impossible, I would love to know that someone will be able to do this. I'm sure if you threw a whole lot of money the barriers could be breached but the ones prudently working on this issue either don't have the resources or sell out.
I have found that the old saying "there is no free lunch" is very true. That is why a hybrid petrol/hho system is the best approach. Adding to the system electric or PV would enhance the system but with current (affordable) technology Petrol would still be the main fuel.

I caught this on Yahoo. This is exactly the type of car that should be being built in the US.

I wonder what it will take to get this into production in the US

Cool design.
The European smart car maybe of interest as Shawn described earlier.
I like this vertical stcking idea - not sure how it would work in practice, but an idea..

so does every other car.........a volvo would have the same impact hit in the same way..........it doesnt matter what car you have ,there all tin cans.....unless u fit roll cages and high impact braces...something car companies are not willing to spend on......lets call it ethnic cleansing....

Re: Experimenting with HHO (hydrogen on demand)

Another piece of the system is a flashback arrestor. The last thing you want is some sort of flash to get back to your cell (or bubble) It isn't pretty. This is a very simple device that can be placed in line between the engine intake and the bubble or generator to avoid a blowback.

Image

This is a must have for all HHO Hydrogen Generators. This unit stops all flashback from getting to your generator. This is a good extra safety precaution. Low cost insurance to protect your system & very simple to build with components from you home improvement store.

All tubes are threaded brass as are the fittings. Both ends have stainless steel screens and packed solid of fine bronze wool., and threads have Rectorseal 5 sealant not Teflon tape.

I also have some more sophisticated units I have built on my stainless steel bubblers which I will post here as well.
