I would like to know, when installing a Wind Generator it must obviously be grounded to protect against lighting strike. I am installing an 8 foot copper ground rod into the earth to ground it. Where is the best location to connect it to the unit. (at the motor or the galvanized pipe)
I found out the hard way years ago with a CB antenna that was attached to my previous house. I removed the ground wire to the grounding rod since I didn't use the antenna. It took a lightning strike & fried my stereo, garage door openers, irrigation controls & my modem.
