VIDEO of 16 turbines of 1kw each

Hi Ben and all little gotwinds
Long time since i have been here, but been busy with work, football etc...

As some of you are aware; i sell the FE turbines and 2 months ago I got an order for 16 turbines and all the accessories from an installer and to cut a long story short, 3 months later I was invited to see the turbines in place and i couldn't help to make a little 2 minute video.

I must stress that building mounted turbines is something I don't really recommend or promote but the owner of the factory is extremely happy with it, also in the roof there is also a 2500watts PV array and that seems to do the trick, they also harvest their own rainwater for toilets and washing their trucks which for a "shed" I was impressed with all the work they have put in, anyway here is the video:

May I also take this opportunity to wish Ben and all Gotwinds a merry, merry christmas and an excellent new year.

Thanks Windy/ Humbertini.
A nice little commision for you there i suspect, as always I wish you well with your ventures.
How involved were you with the installation of the 16 turbines?, is it a grid tie system?

also;
How did you get around the vibration issues on that install, rubber mounts?

Is this a large company that I would know of? - or a forward thinking small company trying to be a little less energy dependent on fossil fuels?

Cheers.
And Happy Christmas to you and your familly also.

Re: VIDEO of 16 turbines of 1kw each

Hi Ben and little gotwinds
Believe it or not it was actually two french brothers that did all the install, they are MCS registered and their work seem to me anyway up to a high standard, it is all grid tied.

As for the vibration mounts they did show me the rubber matt that they used and it allows the whole turbine to move a few milimmetres back and forth but other than that they actually fixed the turbine poles into the corner Ibeams of the factory.
Although it looks good and as a wind power fanatic i LOVE looking at these babies spinning, I personally wouldn't ever install turbines like that I seriously believe that wind turbines need to be higher and in clear clean wind not turbulent, I have to watch what i write here due to the fact that I also have my wind turbine in the middle of houses  but for me its more of a lovelly hobby.

Yes the commission is always welcomed but i am selling these babies not for the money; has my main business is a wood bruiser, (carpentry and Joinery), but I just want other people to be informed of what is out there and hopefully they can join a forum like yours and mine and meet people like yourself, THE MAN Mr Ghurd, fish4fun, weevic and the list goes on and get the proper advice they need; instead of having a salesman on their faces telling them sweet lies, I have turned alot of people away from windpower simply cause they really want to save money but their location isn't appropriate for it and rather point them into solar instead.

Got to go my 4 year old is attacking my rottweiller
Happy Christmas once again everyone here and a happy new year

Scotland seems to be better for wind power than most places I have seen in England. The south west coast of Scotland west coast and north west seem to be prime places for wind generation...

Not everywhere is ideal for wind, but if you have a windy windy place then your laughing all the way to the bank.

As with everything the locations need to be feasible...

I seen some wind turbines on the roof of a council office headquarters in blackpool...they really seem to be promoting their free power...
