Too cold to play windmills today

Well, too cold for me anyway  , probably not for some of you here. Midday temperature - 0 degC (32F).

I had planned to go out into my (unheated) workshop to develop a single axial flux alternator idea, I lasted 10 minutes and decided to CAD the idea up indoors instead :? - it's ongoing.

Re: Too cold to play windmills today

Cold here in Arkansas...snowed right before Christmas and we're supposed to get 2-3 more inches today. My sister lives in Iowa...she said they were supposed to get 18" before Christmas.

I did the same thing the other day...went into the shop to work on the windmill and went right back in because it was so cold. I have a brand new pot belly stove I just need to install the chimney...not gonna happen when it's 19F.

Yep, cold and snow in Wisconsin, first street west of Lake Michigan.... Won't stop me though, windmill going up in the air today for testing :)

I live just a ways North of a place named "Wind Point" :) :) :)

Born in Ohio & moved to PA soon thereafter. We lived in the valley on the Western side near Erie. Didnt mind it much then because we were kids...but now I cant stand it below 60. I guess that comes from living in TX so long. It snowed here yesterday then melted the same day. That's the kind of snow storm I like. Now ya see it, now ya dont!

Re: Too cold to play windmills today

I use the "paradise scale" of temperatures. I feel it is just as valid as selecting 0, 32, 100 and 210. When I say it is 10 below, I mean it is 10F below 80F (70F). Today it is 20 below (60F)! brrrrrrr. Snow? Not likely, but it is windy :-) Definitely blowing a gale.
