Laminated Rotor Plates

I may be able to get hold of some 5" or 6" scrap metal discs but they may not be the 8mm thickness that HP recommends. I only want to experiment at first so would laminating two thinner ones together work for an experimental generator ?

Also will scaling down one of HP's generator designs work ?

Thanks,
Pete

Re: Laminated Rotor Plates

by HP you mean Hugh Piggott.
6" diameter would be an absolute minimum for a rotor plate, you won't fit any coils in otherwise, as far as thickness goes, 3mm (1/8") would be the minimum, no real advantage with anything thicker.
